New RSNA Spotlight Course Reimagines AI in Barcelona

"Radiology Reimagined: Advancing Clinical Practice Through AI Innovation" will bring together global leaders in radiology and AI for a new RSNA Spotlight Course in Barcelona, Oct. 16-17, 2025. This two-day experience will explore the real-world application of AI tools across diverse practice settings. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the AI evaluation and deployment lifecycle and examine the role of generative AI. Didactic sessions, case-based learning and interactive discussions will prepare attendees to lead evidence-based AI implementation and champion innovations that improve both patient outcomes and professional practice.

RSNA Launches New Quality Certificate

Enrollment is now open for the RSNA Quality Certificate. Designed for busy professionals, this certificate offers six brief on-demand modules, each followed by a knowledge check. Participants gain essential skills and confidence to lead quality improvement initiatives in their practice.

RSNA Chest AI Certificate Now Available

RSNA now offers a Chest Certificate as part of the RSNA Imaging AI Certificate Program. AI is rapidly transforming the way chest radiologists handle the high volume of cases by optimizing workflow integration and automation. The curriculum in the Chest Certificate course will enable radiology professionals to:

  • Gain hands-on experience and develop practical skills through case-based learning
  • Responsibly integrate AI tools to optimize workflow and automate tasks
  • Bring structure and speed to reporting to better handle high imaging volumes
  • Flag critical findings faster
  • Assess model performance
  • Explore insights from the latest research

Each of the six case-based modules allow participants to learn at their own pace through a series of pre-recorded videos and a variety of hands-on activities that build on concepts established in the previous modules. Modules will be released monthly.

RSNA Advocates for Medical Imaging Research

RSNA continues to expand its government relations efforts to advocate for policies that support radiologists, protect access to imaging and advance medical research. By engaging with policymakers, the RSNA Government Relations Committee works to ensure that the value of radiology in patient care and innovation is clearly understood and effectively represented. On June 4, Libby O'Hare, Ph.D., RSNA director of Government Relations, served on an expert panel in a virtual Town Hall hosted by the Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research (Academy). The conversation focused on the fiscal year 2026 federal budget and appropriations process and its impact on imaging and radiology research.

R&E Grant Applications Open in October

The R&E Foundation will open its next grant application cycle in October, and several funding opportunities are available. Research grants allow investigators at all stages of their career to advance the radiologic sciences. Education grants support radiology educators who are developing new ways to teach, assess, and promote future leadership in radiology. In addition, the Foundation has introduced targeted funding opportunities for researchers advancing groundbreaking work in emerging, priority and underfunded areas.

ACQUIRE Quality and Clinical Effectiveness Expertise

Academic radiologists and radiation oncologists across all career stages can gain career development support with the Applying Comparative Effectiveness and Quality Improvement Research and Education (ACQUIRE) Program. Participants in this program will gain tools for research in health care delivery and clinical effectiveness along with practical skills, peer support, and mentored research in the form of an intensive hybrid learning program. Participants select from three available program tracks that each include in-person and virtual instruction over the course of a total of two days:

  • Evidence Synthesis/Quality Improvement
  • Observational Research/Health Care Delivery Science
  • Economic Evaluation/Decision Science
