OAK BROOK, Ill. (April 15, 2025) — The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) is accepting applications for the position of Radiology editor-in-chief.
Launched by RSNA in 1923, Radiology is the specialty's leading journal, featuring the most current, clinically relevant and highest quality research in the field of medical imaging. Radiology provides meaningful information to medical imaging physicians and scientists aiming to improve health and reduce the burden of disease. Every month, Radiology features peer-reviewed, timely clinical research, authoritative reviews, editorials, commentaries and experimental studies. Radiology has an impact factor of 12.1, making it one of the top cited journals in the field.
The Radiology editor is responsible for encouraging submissions of scientific manuscripts, for setting high standards of scientific integrity, for developing guidelines and mechanisms for peer review of submitted manuscripts, for release of accepted manuscripts on a timely basis for publication, and for formulating and interpreting editorial philosophy and policies for the journal.
The editor-in-chief also oversees the publication of RSNA journals, collaborating with the RSNA board liaison for publications, the Publications Council chair and other internal stakeholders. The full job description, requirements and qualifications can be found at https://pubs.rsna.org/page/radiology/editor.
Linda Moy, M.D., who has been Radiology editor since January 2023, is stepping down at the end of August 2025 to focus on her role as the inaugural vice chair of AI in the Department of Radiology at New York University.
"Dr. Moy and her editorial team have been extremely dedicated to advancing the quality and visibility of Radiology during her tenure. We are grateful for her service and wish her well in her new role," said Jeffrey S. Klein, M.D., RSNA board chair.
A search committee will assist the RSNA Board of Directors in finding a new editor. Plans call for the chosen applicant to become the editor in January 2026. An interim editor will serve from September to December 2025.
Interested individuals are invited to submit their curriculum vitae and a letter of interest/vision to Radiology Editor Search. The letter of interest should outline qualifications and highlight relevant experience leading a collaborative team and mitigating competing interests. Applicants should include two letters of reference addressing their editorial and leadership experience. All expressions of interest must be submitted by close of business on May 23, 2025.
RSNA would like the search to be as broad and inclusive as possible. All expressions of interest are encouraged. Submit questions regarding the position to Angela Colmone at acolmone@rsna.org.
