RSNA 2024 Hosts Welcome Reception

RSNA 2024, the world's largest radiology forum, will include a new Welcome Reception on Sunday, Dec. 1, 5:30-6:30 p.m., immediately following the Opening Session. The reception will be held in the Connections Center and Learning Center. All RSNA 2024 attendees with a meeting badge are welcome to attend. Register for RSNA 2024. Hotel reservations are available at RSNA.org/Hotel. The advance hotel reservation deadline is Nov. 13.

Nominees Announced for 2025 Board of Directors

RSNA has announced two candidates for the 2025 RSNA Board of Directors. Anne Covey, M.D., is a candidate for an at-large director position. Dr. Covey is an interventional radiologist and professor of radiology in New York City at Weill Cornell Medical College and an attending radiologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she has practiced since 2000.

Tina Young Poussaint, M.D., is a candidate for a standing director position. Dr. Poussaint is the radiologist-in-chief and the Lionel W. Young Chair of the Department of Radiology at Boston Children's Hospital (BCH). She is a professor of radiology at the Harvard Medical School (HMS). Before joining BCH as an attending neuroradiologist in 1993, Dr. Poussaint was an attending neuroradiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Eligible RSNA members will vote on the candidates during RSNA 2024.

RSNA Offers Webinars on Workflow, Alzheimer's, Breast Imaging

RSNA has three upcoming webinars:

"Maintaining Clinical Workflow Integrity in Times of Transition" will be held Oct. 16, 2024, at 12 p.m. CT. This free, one-hour webinar, sponsored by Dicom Systems, will provide expert insight on how to maintain seamless workflows during organizational transitions.

"Unlocking the Radiologist's Role in Alzheimer's Diagnosis and Treatment" will be held Oct. 23, 2024, at 12 p.m. CT. Attendees will examine the critical role of imaging in Alzheimer's diagnosis and management during this free, one-hour webinar, sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company.

"Breast Imaging and Health Equity: Bridging Gaps and Improving Outcomes" will be held Oct. 30, 2024, at 5 p.m. CT. This free, one-hour webinar explores the connection between breast imaging and health equity. RSNA would like to acknowledge Hologic, Inc. for their contribution in the form of an educational grant for this webinar.

MIDRC Seminar Series Announces October Speaker

At the next Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center (MIDRC) seminar, Oct. 15, 2024, 2-3p.m., Praveer Singh, Ph.D., will speak on Decoding Race in Medical Images: A CycleGAN Journey. Held on the third Tuesday of the month, the Seminar Series is an opportunity for members of the medical community at-large to hear directly from the MIDRC team. The free session includes a live Q & A for all attendees.

Grant Writing Workshop at RSNA 2024

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Grantsmanship Workshop will outline the process of preparing a competitive research or training grant application. A faculty of top researchers with extensive experience in the grant application process will lead this workshop designed for junior faculty in academic centers who plan to pursue a career in radiologic research. Workshop attendees must be registered for RSNA 2024 to attend this workshop, held at McCormick Place, Sunday, Dec. 1, from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information contact the Department of Science and Research at dor@rsna.org.

RSNA Holds Clinical Trials Methodology Workshop

Applications are now open for a Clinical Trials Methodology Workshop, January 4-10, 2025, at Hilton Santa Monica Hotel and Suites. Attendees will learn to develop protocols for the clinical evaluation of imaging modalities during the six-day workshop. Each trainee will be expected to develop a protocol for a clinical study, ready to include in an application for external funding. Participants will be selected through a competitive application process.

There are no fees associated with this workshop, but participants are responsible for all travel expenses and hotel accommodations. The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) Foundation will provide up to four travel awards for selected interventional radiology participants (sponsored applicants must be SIR members). RSNA Research & Education Foundation Grant Applications Open

The R&E Foundation's grant applications are open. Several research and education grant opportunities are available, with application deadlines in January and February 2025. For additional details, application deadlines and applicant resources, visit RSNA.org/Foundation.
