We are putting the final touches on plans for RSNA 2023 and preparing to welcome attendees to Chicago's McCormick Place to experience the biggest week in radiology. The RSNA 2023 theme, Leading Through Change, highlights the evolving field of radiology and centers on how radiology professionals can be intentional and proactive as we navigate and lead others through change. Cases, Competitions and Thought-Provoking Themes

Attendees can enjoy lively competition and inspired thinking during some of the most sought-after annual meeting experiences.

Five speakers present for five minutes each in the popular Fast 5 session, moderated by Ángel Gómez-Cintrón, M.D. M.P.H. These innovative, non-clinical topics are selected by popular vote. The schedule of topics and presenters is available at RSNA.org/Annual-Meeting/Meeting-Highlights.

In Oncology Imaging and Interventions: The Radiology Jeopardy, three teams compete for bragging rights against each other. This high-energy event will be moderated on the Arie Crown stage by Julius Chapiro, M.D., Ph.D., and Anna Shapiro, M.D.

Case of the Day, available on the meeting app and in the Learning Center, lets meeting participants submit answers to a daily unique and challenging case. The correct answer is revealed the following morning.

All The Latest in Medical Imaging AI

As a leader in the practical and ethical application of medical imaging AI, RSNA invites attendees to discover the latest in AI technology and solutions. Connect with industry experts in the AI Showcase, featuring hands-on learning and special engagement opportunities. Immerse yourself in the hottest topics in AI, machine learning and deep learning in the RSNA AI Theater. The RSNAI Resource Center, located in the AI Theater, will highlight AI resources and education. Visit the Imaging AI in Practice booth to experience demonstrations of new AI-enabled tools and practice enhancements in real-world clinical scenarios.

Learning Center Adds Second Theater and New Café

This year, in addition to offering scientific and education digital presentations available for self-study, the Learning Center will be home to two theaters featuring 10-minute presentations of late-breaking research. View live presentations daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on generative AI, imaging of immunotherapy, sustainability in radiology, and theranostics. Take a break between presentations and enjoy artisan-crafted coffee beverages and small bites to fuel your day at the new Learning Center Café. While you're there, take in the Art of Imaging exhibit.

RSNA Labs Offer Opportunities for Hands-On Learning

The RSNA Hands-on Labs offer 90-minute, hands-on training courses in several subspecialties, while the RSNA Deep Learning Lab features 19 unique sessions covering a range of topics and skills.

RSNA 5k Fun Run

Registration is open for the RSNA 5k Fun Run—a popular annual meeting event that gives you the chance to get some exercise and support the RSNA R&E Foundation. The event will be held Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 7 a.m. Register in advance at RSNA.org/Fun-Run or at the RSNA 5k Fun Run Desk in McCormick Place.

Special Events Scheduled for RSNA 2023

On Tuesday, there will be a free happy hour event in the Technical Exhibits Halls. Participating exhibitors will serve appetizers and beverages at their booths from 2 to 5 p.m.

RSNA After Dark will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 29. This late-night party will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight at TAO Chicago, one of the city's most exclusive clubs in the vibrant River North neighborhood. RSNA After Dark is a ticketed event. Visit RSNA.org/Annual-Meeting for details.

RSNA Launches EdCentral Learning Platform

RSNA has introduced EdCentral, a new learning management platform that will save time and change the way members access RSNA's online educational content, including articles from Radiology and RadioGraphics.

EdCentral is a centralized, easy-to-navigate learning hub that features an intuitive interface and search capabilities. Designed to function like popular video streaming services that offer curated, customizable content based on individual preferences and prior activity, EdCentral provides each learner with a uniquely tailored assortment of learning opportunities.

On the platform's profile page, users can manage interests, groups, channels and learning progress, and develop a skills passport where they can list their skills, credentials and accomplishments. Users will receive alerts when new, relevant content is available on the system and can adjust their preferences to make sure their feed changes as their interests and needs change.

RSNA Announces New Rising Star Award

RSNA is dedicated to honoring the accomplishments of radiologists with the inaugural Rising Star Award. New for 2024, this education-focused award seeks to acknowledge and highlight the outstanding contributions and innovative work of the leaders who are shaping the future of radiologic education.

RSNA members who have up to 10 years of post-residency experience, are employed by an academic institution with a teaching hospital or operate as part of a broader medical institution are eligible. Nominations must include a one-page personal statement that focuses on work and achievements in the areas of education leadership, community outreach, radiology education, volunteer engagement and innovation in radiology education.

Nominations Open for Honored Educator Award

Nominations are now open for the Honored Educator Award, acknowledging those most invested in furthering radiologic education through the creation of high-quality educational content in their field of study. Nominees must be RSNA members and participate in a number of qualifying educational activities during the previous calendar year (Jan. 1 to Dec. 31).

Breast Imaging Courses Highlighted in the Online Learning Center

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the RSNA Online Learning Center is highlighting top-quality breast imaging refresher courses from RSNA 2022. Visit Education.RSNA.org.

RSNA Offers Grant Workshop

Registration is open for the Writing a Competitive Grant Proposal workshop, designed for researchers in radiology, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine and related sciences who are interested in actively pursuing federal funding. The workshop will be held at RSNA headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois, March 15-16, 2024.

This 1 ½-day program is guided by a faculty of leading researchers with extensive experience in all aspects of grant applications and funding. Participants will be provided with tools for getting started in the grant writing process and developing realistic expectations. Special emphasis will be placed on writing specific aims to help course attendees capture attention and make the case for funding.

RSNA Hosts 3D Printing Events

RSNA 2023 attendees are invited to join the 3D Printing Symposium to be held at McCormick Place on Thursday, Nov. 30. Led by expert faculty, this event covers imaging optimization and modeling, quality management, surgical planning, material compatibility and sustainability. RSNA will offer a Medical 3D Printing in Practice event April 19-20, 2024. Convening physicians and professionals working in the advanced imaging and medical 3D printing industry, this course will feature didactic lectures, posters and expert demonstrations focusing on 3D printing technology, research and policy regulation. A vendor exhibition area will be onsite for attendees to explore. Abstract submissions are open.

Imaging AI Certificate Discounted Residency Program Enrollment Now Available

RSNA now offers discounted residency program pricing options for members-in-training enrolling in the Foundational and/or Advanced Certificate courses. Each resident must first complete an RSNA membership application and receive confirmation of membership from RSNA. RSNA membership is free for residents. Registered learners have access to the program for 12 months. Learn more.

MIDRC selected for ARPA-H Biomedical Data Fabric Toolbox

MIDRC was selected in September 2023 as one of several performers for the ARPA-H Biomedical Data Fabric (BDF) Toolbox. The ARPA-H BDF is an initiative to de-risk technologies for an easily deployable, multi-modal, multi-scale, connected data ecosystem for biomedical data. MIDRC will provide domain expertise and data commons technology development in medical imaging. MIDRC is funded by NIH NIBIB, co-led by investigators from RSNA, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and the American College of Radiology (ACR) and hosted at the University of Chicago.
