Scott Honored for Health Care Leadership
Jinel Scott, M.D., M.B.A., was recently honored by Becker’s Healthcare as one of 149+ Black health care leaders to know in 2023. She and her fellow honorees are recognized for their standout work in promoting health equity, fostering positive patient experiences and paving the way for the next generation of leaders.

Dr. Scott is an associate professor of clinical radiology in the Department of Radiology at State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University, and chief quality officer at New York Health and Hospitals/Kings County, in New York City. She serves as a member of the RSNA Board of Directors. She is the Board liaison to the RSNA Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the RSNA Quality Improvement Committee and the RSNA Health Equity Committee. Dr. Scott is also the RSNA representative to the Radiology Health Equity Coalition.

Radiology, Chinese Edition Publishes Inaugural Issue
Radiology editor, Linda Moy, M.D., recently announced the launch of Radiology, Chinese Edition. The quarterly publication will highlight and translate select articles and abstracts from RSNA’s flagship journal, Radiology, with each issue focusing on a particular radiology subspecialty. A limited print run will be distributed in China, and the online version will be accessible in China via WeChat. Professor Zhengyu Jin, director of the Radiology Department at Peking Union Medical College Hospital and the chair of the Radiology Society of Chinese Medical Association, is editor of Radiology, Chinese Edition and curates the content.

“I congratulate Dr Jin and his editorial board for recognizing the central role of biomedical imaging in caring for our patients, connecting in innovative ways, and fostering the spirit of global collaboration,” Dr. Moy said.

Radiologists in War-Torn Ukraine Share Stories with RSNA
Radiologists in Ukraine are continuing to provide life-saving medical imaging under dire circumstances, including developing workarounds for damaged equipment and managing battlefield trauma and wounds. Read their first-hand accounts in RSNA News.

Registration Open for 2023 IHE-Europe Connectathon
Registration is open for the 2023 Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) European Connectathon taking place Sept. 25-29 in Rennes, France. During this five-day event, vendors will complete real-time implementation testing of IHE interoperability specification in a supervised and structured environment. One focus of this year’s European Connectathon will be testing IHE profiles for AI in radiology. IHE to Publish New Radiology Workflow Profiles for 2023
IHE Radiology developed two new interoperability specifications (IHE profiles) this year designed to streamline radiology workflow. They will be published for trial implementation later this summer and tested at IHE Connectathons starting this fall.

IHE addresses interoperability gaps within and across domains in health care, including radiology. RSNA has sponsored the IHE Radiology domain since 1998 and continues to support its ongoing work.

Across the Americas Event Emphasizes Radiologists’ Role in Outreach Initiatives
RSNA’s “Building Connections Across the Americas: Addressing Access to Radiology” held its third event during the Sociedade Paulista de Radiologia e Diagnóstico por Imagem (SPR) annual meeting, the Jornada Paulista de Radiologia (JPR 2023, April 27-30, in São Paulo, Brazil). The Building Connections Across the Americas program, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), was launched in 2022 to help address deficiencies and barriers in radiology education and practice across the Americas and to improve the quality and safety of patient care. Previous events have been held at RSNA 2022 and at the RSNA Global Learning Center in Quito, Ecuador.

R&E Foundation Introduces Leadership Circle Giving Program
This year, corporations have a new way to support the RSNA R&E Foundation on an annual, non-endowed basis through the Leadership Circle Program. Under the new program, corporations are invited to make tax-deductible contributions at three levels: Benefactor ($5,000), Advocate ($10,000) and Champion ($25,000). Companies who make Leadership Circle donations through Sept. 30 will receive recognition and a variety of benefits to enhance their presence before and during RSNA 2023.

Among these benefits, donors will receive recognition at their booth and in the Foundation’s Donor Suite and Booth. They will receive an invitation to network with grantees and RSNA leaders at the Corporate Donor Reception. Leadership Circle donors will also be recognized with their company booth location and promotional information will be included in an e-blast to Foundation donors prior to the meeting.

For more than three decades, the Foundation has received corporate support for grant funding through its elite Vanguard Program. Companies who participate in the Vanguard Program support endowed grant awards and have opportunities for naming rights.
